Architectural Designer / Intern Architect

Architectural Designer / Intern Architect with three to five years of experience to work in our Philadelphia office – we are seeking a new team member who is a self-starter, communicates well, desires involvement in all aspects of project design and construction, and aspires to professional licensure. Your day-to-day duties will touch on many aspects of design office operations: developing design concepts, producing construction documents, interacting with clients and consultants, and contract administration. You must be organized, versatile, and an active participant in our firm.

Requirements

Interior Designer

Interior Designer with three to ten years of experience to work in our Philadelphia office – we are seeking a new team member who is passionate about design, creative, a self-starter, communicates well, energetic, technically skilled and has strong client/vendor relations. Your day-to-day duties will touch on many aspects of architectural/interior design office operations: developing interior design space planning, FF&E material selections and specifications, finish detail, maintenance of the office materials library, interacting with clients, vendors and consultants. You must be organized, versatile, and an active participant in our firm.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree with background in Interior Design or Architecture and FF & E Selection
  • Understanding of building materials and their use and application in interior design
  • Working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Word, Excel, and Photoshop
  • Knowledge of applicable building codes and universal design concepts (ADA)
  • Support with all phases of the design process including programming, schematic design, design development, construction documentation and construction administration on various projects
  • Confident, self-starter who can work well with minimum supervision and strong attention to detail in composing and proofing materials, establishing priorities, scheduling and meeting deadlines
  • Some travel, mainly within the region
Project Manager

Architecture Project Manager with ten to fifteen years of experience – the individual that will fill this role has a broad range of experience in the design and construction of public bid facilities, is able to function in multiple roles, and has a strong willingness and desire to be involved in all aspects of project design and construction. Client and consultant interaction is a key component for the successful candidate. Your day-to-day duties will touch on nearly every aspect of design office operations: document production, staff oversight, business development, constant client interaction, and contract administration. You must be knowledgeable, versatile, and willing to participate in the long-term growth, development and success of SG.

Requirements
  • Must possess Bachelor’s degree in Architecture
  • Must be a licensed professional (AIA) with a minimum of 10 years of experience engaged in the duties listed above
  • Must have a working knowledge of modern production software (AutoCAD, REVIT, Word, Excel, etc)
  • Must have exceptional communication skills, both oral and written
  • Must be able to sketch and draw to convey ideas and concepts to those with whom you’ll work
  • Must be available to travel. While most of our work is regional, occasional overnight travel is required
