Holland Middle School Receives Outstanding Project Recognition in Learning by Design Fall 2019 Issue
Council Rock School District (CRSD)’s Holland Middle School renovation project has been featured in Learning by Design’s Fall 2019 Issue, receiving recognition as an Outstanding Project.
Learning by Design is, “…the premier source for education design and innovation excellence. Published three times each year in April, June and October, this prestigious magazine recognizes the nation’s preeminent architectural firms by publishing outstanding pre-K to 12 and college/university projects.”
The Issue highlights the Holland Middle School project’s renovation and features images of the transformed exterior and interior. Images display it’s dynamic, sustainable features designed to reflect 21st-century learning styles. The renovation project added approximately 44,000 SF to the current building footprint for a total of 184,000 SF.
The Holland Middle School Project has achieved LEED Gold certification.

SCHRADERGROUP Attends the LearningSCAPES 2019 Annual Conference in Anaheim, California
SCHRADERGROUP (SG) attended the annual Association for Learning Environments (A4LE) LearningSCAPES 2019 Conference on October 3-6, at the Hyatt Regency Orange County in Anaheim, California.
The conference offered world-class educational sessions and award-winning speakers supporting best practices to creating efficient educational learning environments. The conference allowed members from around the world to converse about educational visions, connect through experiences and discoveries, and exchange expertise about next generation learning environments and their evolving needs.
Themes explored included; public schools and 21st Century Learning Environments, future-focused facilities, co-creating for future generations and many other topics supporting 21st century educational trends.
Information sessions included presentations such as, “The Application of Environmental Psychology to K-12 School Planning and Design,” “Safe, Secure, and Supportive Schools: Creating learning environments that address the well-being of students and staff” and “Visualization to Improve and Enhance the School Design Experience,” to name a few.
The SG team is appreciative of this opportunity to have collaborated with other industry experts. We are, and have been, a proud sponsor of A4LE’s great annual EXPOS.

SCHRADERGROUP Celebrates Council Rock School District’s Wrightstown Elementary School
SCHRADERGROUP (SG) attended Council Rock School District (CRSD)’s ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of Wrightstown Elementary School on October 3, 2019. These new state of the art renovations and additions were completed in time for the 2019-2020 school year.
This addition and renovation project includes a renovated administrative suite, a new gymnasium, upgraded cafetorium, five new classrooms, a new connecting corridor, HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire protection replacement as well as improvements to ceilings, roof, floors, interior/exterior finishes and more. Children walked into a building that was essentially “brand-new” on opening day.
Students, teachers, School Board members, parents, and residents gathered as a community to celebrate the facility’s completed improvements. Students cut the ribbon with excitement. They were thrilled about their upgraded and completely air-conditioned school.

SG is honored to have had the opportunity to support this process and to see the impact the project has made on the Wrightstown community. We are proud to have been part of many building transformations in this community and look forward to sharing future experiences with CRSD!

SCHRADERGROUP Recognized on ENR’s Mid-Atlantic Top Design Firms 2019
SCHRADERGROUP was recently ranked #100 on Engineering News-Record (ENR)’s list of Mid-Atlantic Top Design Firms for 2019.
ENR provides annual ranking charts for both publicly and privately held design firms, located in the Mid Atlantic Region of the United States. The rankings are based on surveys and annual revenue, then further divided into specific market categories.
The Mid-Atlantic Top Design Firms for 2019 lists SCHRADERGROUP at #100. The article features our largest project to break ground in 2018, the New Springfield High School project in Springfield, Pennsylvania. This project was a teamed effort with Perkins + Will of Chicago, Illinois.

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Officially Opens Martin County’s New Regional 9-1-1 Communication Center
SCHRADERGROUP (SG) celebrated with Martin County and their regional partners; Bertie County and Pasquotank County, at the ribbon-cutting ceremony that initiated the official opening of its new 9-1-1 Regional Communication Center.
The SG team joined County and State officials, First Responders, E9-1-1 staff and the community for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the new 9-1-1 Regional Communication Center. The highly anticipated facility, designed by SG, will now become Martin County’s primary dispatch center. The facility operates 24/7 and is equipped with upgraded technology consistent with state-of-the-art 9-1-1 center standards assuring citizens’ needs are met quickly and efficiently.
Martin County Manager and member of the North Carolina (NC) State 9-1-1 Board (former Vice Chairman), David Bone, states, “This project establishes the highest standard of a cost effective PSAP with state-of-the-art design and technology for small to medium size counties throughout North Carolina,” Bone also indicated that this facility will serve as a model for other NC Counties challenged with providing affordable and modern critical facilities to serve rural communities.

SG is proud to have been part of the team responsible for providing the space necessary to support public safety services to the citizens of Martin County and its adjacent counties. The SG team is appreciative of Martin County and their regional partners for this opportunity and as great people delivering a tremendous service to their Counties.

Gulph Elementary School Receives Outstanding Design Recognition from American School & University’s 2019 Educational Interiors Showcase August Issue
SCHRADERGROUP (SG)’s Gulph Elementary School project has been recognized as an Outstanding Design by the American School & University (AS&U)’s 2019 Educational Interiors Showcase, August Issue.
“The nation’s school and university administrators, as well as education architects, turn to American School & University for how-to features, insight, industry exclusive reports and research on the planning, design, construction, retrofit, operations, maintenance, security and management of education facilities. AS&U’s mission is to continue serving as the voice of the industry – not just reporting events, but also helping to shape the rapidly growing and evolving education facilities and business market. AS&U delivers important insight to today’s decision makers” (AS&U’s official site).
The recognition highlights Gulph’s new technology center showcasing photos of the learning resource center, STE(A)M maker space, art and music instruction areas, and a “learning stair” intended for large group activities proximate to the classrooms. The classroom wings are structured as groupings of grade-appropriate classrooms with learning support, faculty spaces, and team work areas. Each set of grade clusters is oriented around the two-story media center and STE(A)M Center, connecting through the learning stair, which doubles as a mini presentation space for the building.

SCHRADERGROUP Welcomes Designer, Christopher Farmer, LEED Green Associate!
SCHRADERGROUP (SG) welcomes a new Designer to the team, Christopher Farmer, LEED Green Associate.
Christopher brings four years of experience as an architectural designer to our team. His experience includes managing Revit models and AutoCAD for large scale academic projects (Elementary Schools, Middle Schools, Private Schools, and Libraries.) Chris also has experience on site, where he performed a variety of labor tasks and duties, gaining a thorough understanding of job site culture. Christopher is skilled in a wide array of project documentation for different phases of the architectural process.
Christopher holds a B.S. in Architectural Studies with a concentration in Advanced Design Technologies from Philadelphia University, now known as Jefferson University. He is a volunteer for Architecture in Schools and enjoys curling.
Christopher’s wide range of experience in Architecture makes him a valuable asset to SG’s academic project team.

SCHRADERGROUP Attends Groundbreaking Ceremony for Neidig Elementary School
SCHRADERGROUP (SG) attended the Groundbreaking Ceremony to mark the beginning of the construction process for Quakertown Community School District’s (QCSD) Neidig Elementary School project on May 29, 2019.
Students, teachers, District Officials, School Directors and members of the community gathered to celebrate the addition and renovation project that will transform the existing 1950’s era building into a state of the art learning environment.

The building will undergo a major addition and renovation designed to house 600 students. The primary wing of the existing facility will remain and will receive a complete renovation while the fifth-grade wing will be demolished and replaced by a new two-story classroom wing. A new gymnasium will be added and the balance of the facility will be gutted and completely renovated. The facility will be completed for fall 2020 occupancy.
The SG team is pleased to partner with QCSD on this highly anticipated educational facility.
