Holland Middle School, Council Rock School District

Holland Middle School is one of three existing middle schools in the Council Rock School District that is part of a plan to consolidate the existing three schools into two middle schools. Holland will be renovated while a new middle school will be constructed adjacent to the current Newtown Middle School, which will then be demolished for other site activities. Both Holland and Newtown Middle Schools are being designed to the same educational specifications and will serve as the two middle schools for the district once complete. Holland will be a phased project so that use of the building for education can be maintained during the renovations.

Program additions to the current middle school include: an auditorium with balcony seating, new spaces for music, an auxiliary gymnasium, fitness room, additional classrooms and a new administration area. The interior of the building will be completely renovated to reflect 21st century learning styles while the exterior of the building will updated with a new, contemporary skin. New windows will introduce daylighting throughout the facility.

The project adds approximately 44,000 SF to the current building footprint of 140,000 SF for a total of 184,000 SF.
