SCHRADERGROUP Sponsors and Attends the Annual Community College of Philadelphia Black & Gold Gala
SCHRADERGOUP (SG) attended the Community College of Philadelphia’s annual Black & Gold Gala at the Vie by Cescaphe in Philadelphia on June 1st. Managing Partner David Schrader was joined by Partner Bruce Bachtle, Interior Designer Charlotte Stoudt, and Architects Eric Weiss and Paige Geldrich for the signature fundraising event for the Community College of Philadelphia Foundation and one of greater Philadelphia’s premier social occasions.
The Black and Gold Gala is a premier charity event that recognizes outstanding service of individuals and organizations that demonstrate involvement in community growth in the areas of education, business, social services, and health. This recognition is awarded to those who exemplify leadership and are active in community initiatives in Philadelphia. Event proceeds benefit the 50th Anniversary Promise Scholarship and other scholarships for Community College of Philadelphia students. Last year, the Community College of Philadelphia Foundation provided over $1 million in scholarship support to students. SCHRADERGROUP was proud to be a sponsor for this event as part of our continued relationship with the College.
As part of its mission to build a better and brighter future for Philadelphia, the College selected SCHRADERGROUP, in partnership with Lavallee Brensinger Architects, to transform the college’s West Philadelphia Regional Center into a new Career and Advanced Technology Center. The center will provide high-quality academic, career, and technical programs for student’s entering the region’s workforce. The main goal of the project was to create a dynamic, identity-focused center that provides students with programs that concentrate on career readiness and to generate a thriving workforce in Philadelphia’s transportation, manufacturing, and healthcare fields.
The new 75,000 SF facility includes state-of-the-art advanced and adaptive technologies for instructional space and study areas, laboratory service bays for automobiles and small engine equipment, and spaces for diesel technology. Programs offered include transportation and logistics technology training, advanced manufacturing training, entry-level healthcare career training, and an innovation hub for small businesses and entrepreneurs.
Other notable features of the facility include LEED certification, energy efficient design utilizing copious amounts of natural daylight, green rooftops for students and community members, a second-floor patio and adjoining room for events, and a learning commons and multiple conference rooms for student collaboration. The facility just recently opened this August.
SG is thrilled to continue our work with the Community College of Philadelphia in bringing career training and community building to the forefront of our neighborhoods through state-of-the-art facilities, support for local entrepreneurship, and hands-on learning experiences for fields that are in demand. SCHRADERGROUP Attends PSU’s Stuckeman School Career Day 2022
SCHRADERGROUP (SG) attended the Pennsylvania State University’s 36th annual Stuckeman School Career Day held on Monday, January 24th in the HUB-Robeson Center on Penn State’s Main Campus in State College, PA.
The SG team was represented by Managing Partner David Schrader (PSU Class of 1991) and team members Paige Geldrich (PSU Class of 2018) and Jillian Kreglow (PSU Class of 2021). The team was thrilled to catch up with some familiar faces and to have met so many bright, dedicated architecture students with promising portfolios. SG looks forward to hiring some of the students we met with as interns this upcoming summer.
The Stuckeman School Career Day is an annual event that allows professional firms to interact directly with PSU’s award-winning students. This exciting event provides students with an opportunity to network and explore potential career fields in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, and Graphic Design. SG was very happy to attend this event in person once again and to connect with the University’s great students.
SG has a diverse team of talented employees, some of whom are also graduates of the Penn State Stuckeman School. SCHRADERGROUP to Speak at PASBO’s 2022 Annual Conference!
We are excited to announce that the SCHRADERGROUP (SG) team will be speaking and exhibiting at this year’s 67th PASBO Annual Conference & Exhibits in Hershey, PA from March 8th to the 11th in the Hershey Lodge. Stop by Booth 410 this year to say hello and meet the team!
SG is thrilled to attend this great event in person after last year’s conference was held virtually. We are even more excited to announce that the SG team will be partnering with previous clients and consultants to bring you a special panel this year: “SCHOOL OF THE FUTURE: The Next Generation of Safety and Security, HVAC and Virus Mitigation.” This panel discussion will be on Wednesday, March 9th from 10:45am – 11:45am. We hope to see you there!
“School districts are continually advancing the level of internal transparency and are including more unique and dynamic learning environments as they seek to adjust to changing learning styles and the increased use of technology. Solutions required to respond to the recent pandemic have only exacerbated the challenges of delivering a higher caliber of education to the learner. In response to these issues, school districts have had to evolve their thinking in terms of; safety, security, HVAC and virus mitigation.
Historic threats to schools have created the need to implement safety and security protocol and systems but now, for the first time in 100 years, we have encountered a health pandemic which became another threat to our students, faculty, staff, and community. These compounded concerns create dynamic needs for school districts. Threat assessments, emergency planning and ultimately implementation of protocols are critical to procedures going forward. But further, those threats have modified the systems in buildings. It is critical that these become an underlying part of our process and systems so that all members of society can enjoy learning and community-based activities without actively feeling those threats.
This panel is intended to discuss and debate these topics and to reveal some of the next generation thinking relative to these topics.”

The Pennsylvania Association of School Business Officials (PASBO) is a statewide association with 3,000 members. They are devoted to providing their supporters with education, training, professional development, and timely access to legislative and policy news. Their membership base covers school professionals working in finance, accounting, operations, facilities, transportation, food service, technology, communications, human resources, purchasing, and safety services. While diverse in areas of specialty, all members share a common goal – to support classroom learning in schools during good and bad economic times through smart business practices. PASBO helps make that goal a reality.
Each year, PASBO provides an opportunity for school business officials to listen to keynote speaker presentations and attend information workshops that provide members with the opportunity to network with their peers. PASBO provides its members with the education, training, and professional development, as well as the timely access to legislative and policy news, needed to support this goal of developing and supporting leaders in school business operations.

SCHRADERGROUP Attends North Penn School District Educational Foundation’s 20th Annual Golf Classic
SCHRADERGROUP (SG) recently attended the North Penn School District (NPSD) Educational Foundation’s 20th Annual Golf Classic hosted at the Talamore Country Club in Ambler, PA on Tuesday, October 5. The outing helped raise charitable funds for the foundation while participants enjoyed a day on the course with lunch and beverages.
SG was happy to return and proud to be a Metal-level sponsor for this great event that raises money to provide innovative classroom grants to enhance the educational experience of NPSD students.
The SG team was represented by Eric Weiss and Jeremy Ross. The team was honored to support an organization that’s committed to enriching the education and lives of more than 13,000 students in each of the North Penn School District’s eighteen schools.
As educational planners and architects, SG is committed to providing educational facilities that further enrich the learning experience. The success of these events and the continued work of the foundation provides the opportunity to introduce students to new curriculum and innovations in education that give the buildings we design an exciting purpose.
The SG team would like to thank the dedicated members of the NPSD Educational Foundation for organizing this wonderful event. As an example of this funding in action, the North Penn High School will be the first high school in North America that will provide students with a new spatial computing program that will give students a unique opportunity to learn how to design, develop, and publish Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) applications. SCHRADERGROUP Sponsors and Attends the Council Rock Education Foundation’s 2nd Annual Golf Classic
SCHRADERGROUP (SG) recently attended the Council Rock Education Foundation’s second annual Golf Classic hosted at the Philmont Country Club in Huntingdon Valley, PA on May 19th. Proceeds from the event go to supporting innovative K-12 S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, The Arts, and Mathematics) programs and projects for the kids of Council Rock School District.
SG was proud to be a Bogey Sponsor for this exciting event, continuing our tradition of support for the Council Rock Golf Classic and all of the tremendous benefits that come from such an important outing. As educational planners and architects, SCHRADERGROUP (SG) is always looking for new ways to support educational districts and foundations that are committed to the success of their students.
The SG team attended the event with some well-known faces of the District. In addition to a great day of golf, the event included breakfast, lunch, games, awards, and prizes, with a reception following a beautiful day out on the course.
This year, the Council Rock Education Foundation celebrates its 13th year of supporting S.T.E.A.M. Innovation projects, 21st Century Literacy, Youth Leadership, and Environmental Engagement for the district’s students. SG is proud to support an organization that engages students and assists in developing their critical thinking skills, all while still having fun!
Events like these are important to the success of a school district and its students, as it allows the funding of programs that would otherwise not be covered in the annual budget. SG would like to thank the dedicated members of the foundation for organizing this great event.
