Police Department, Willistown Township

Following completion of programming, master planning and a feasibility study for their Municipal Complex, Willistown Township elected to immediately move forward with a new facility design for the Police Department and retained SG to complete the project.

The project involved the demolition of the existing Township Administration Building and the construction of a new approximately 9,000 SF, one-story police building on the same property. The building includes a crime lab, evidence and general storage areas, office and conference space, a processing area, interview rooms and holding cells, locker rooms, other support space, and a mechanical mezzanine.

The facility also includes an emergency generator to allow the facility to remain fully operational during power loss. The building is constructed using wood frame construction and wood roof trusses for the general administrative areas of the building. Part of the goal for the project was to minimize disruption of the existing parking, stormwater and site utilities.
