SCHRADERGROUP Celebrates Fifteen Years!

This year marks SCHRADERGROUP (SG)’s fifteenth anniversary. The business was established on April 15, 2004 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Fifteen years ago, Managing Partner David Schrader founded SG with the vision of designing for the future—for tomorrow’s workers, thinkers, and leaders. SG’s initial mission was to give back to the community and to build foundations for future generations. Since its inception, SG has succeeded in creating 21st century academic facilities for students, instructors, and staff. SG has also designed sustainable, survivable, community-oriented facilities for public safety/law enforcement personnel and mission critical personnel. SG is recognized both regionally and nationally for design that offers the highest degree of service to the user, responds to and respects both the built and natural environment, and demonstrates inspired aesthetics.

As SG continues to grow, we honor our beginnings and those who have helped shape us into what we’ve become today. In the images below, we have collected some of our most memorable accomplishments from those last fifteen years.

SG would like to thank our clients, supporters, and community for the opportunities past and present. Further, we’d like to thank these talented colleagues, past and present, who have been so critical to making these great projects a success. We look forward to the next fifteen years of improving the day-to-day experiences of students, faculty, staff, and community through innovative and dynamic design.

SCHRADERGROUP Attends Hatboro-Horsham’s 2nd Annual “When I Grow Up” Career 2019 EXPO

SCHRADERGROUP (SG) attends Hatboro-Horsham School District’s (HHSD’s) 2nd Annual “When I Grow Up” Career Expo at Hallowell Elementary School to support K-12 students in discovering career interests of their own. This career event offers students and families a hands-on experience to engage with 60+ vendors and professionals from around the region. Professional participants provided activities, educational games and giveaways, giving children an opportunity to explore potential career paths.

SG’s Senior Project Manager and Educational Planner, Danielle V. Hoffer, was part of the design team for Hatboro-Horsham’s new Crooked Billet Elementary School to be completed in June 2020. For this year’s event, the students could relate with the project that they see in their community currently under construction with the drawings and images on display.

Mark Adamiak, one of SG’s Project Managers and former architectural educator, engaged students in a Virtual Reality model of Crooked Billet Elementary to “walk” participants through the building. Experiencing the design in a virtual spatial context provided the students a hands-on understanding of building designs and allows students to see how interesting architecture can be as a future career choice. Experienced X-box users were especially able to gain a better understanding with a medium their familiar with.

To further demonstrate a simpler example of an architect’s role, Mark used an analogy of Legos. He explained how Lego sets include an instructional manual to show users step-by-step how to build. As architects, our team creates the construction documents or an “instruction manual” that provides the contractor with step-by-step instructions on how to build a building.

The SG team is grateful for this experience and hopes to have provided students, and their parents, with a broader understanding of what an Architect does and the educational track to persue. Our team is proud to contribute to an opportunity for HHSD students to explore diverse career paths and hopefully spark inspiration in the fields of Architecture or Engineering.

SCHRADERGROUP (SG)’s Managing Partner, David Schrader, was proud to assist in a presentation and group tour of the Upper Merion Area School District (UMASD)’s Gulph Elementary School. The tour was provided for the Saint Joseph University’s Doctoral Program in Educational Administration.

SG is proud of the opportunity to share the incredible school that UMASD has built as an example of how inspiring learning environments can make a difference in education today.
